not just dead prez, alot of older politically driven hip hop is about black oppression, though I dont really beleive theyre all that oppressed these days.
if you want to look back over the last 20 years I can at least name, Public Enemy, N.W.A and Arrested Development doing exactly the same thing Dead Prez does know.
not that it detracts from the music, I just dont take there lyrics very personally.
