Glen Danzig is fairly much the greatest vocalist in punk, the Misfits are one of the most recognisable groups to appear in the genre, and Halloween is probably the most covered 'horror punk' titles of all time.
But no-one holds anything on the Misfits version.
While its great to see the Misfits and Danzig getting the recognition they truly deserve, its sad to see Glenn Danzig's other band being somewhat forgotten (though the hardcore fans of them will probably be relishing some underground love) The band Danzig, actually sprouted from members of Danzig's side project Samhain (pronounced 'sow-win') who are credited for being a much darker, horror punk group (think the misfits, minus the comic book horror feel, a more morbid sound)
There sound is somewhat between the Gritty punk sound of the Misfits, and the more polished Metal of Danzig's self named project, its a wicked sound I'm sure plenty of people can appreciate, if they only give it a chance.
Currently im playing the album Initium which I suggest you give a whirl (PS theres a good read on Wikipedia about how Danzig came to write the misfits song 'london dungeon')
