The Empire

So, last night… and nudity… We were at Murphy's enjoying a few brews, when across the road, someone happened to read 'jelly wrestling and topless bar staff tonight' we were sooooo there, turned out the topless bar staff were topless wrestlers too, underpants were ripped off, giblets were everywhere, it was a mix of fun and disgust (drunken punters were allowed to wrestle both gals and when I say underpants were ripped off, I'm not only talking about the girls) One guy just sat there and enjoyed the two ladies groping him.

I said in last nights post that I was going to throw a rant up about Slipknot, well I lied, instead I'm going to throw up something about what is probably my favourite metal album of all time, Prophecy by Soulfly (mainly because I have only just got my hands on Dark Ages which ill be ranting about later on in the week at this rate, and also because my rants list lacks metal which is one of my favourite Sub Genres)

I first got into Soulfly due to the work Max Cavalera done with the Deftones partially. And also due to a 'friend' of mine, that ginger bastard Rowen Holling. He threw prophecy into my xbox, I heard '

The tribal sound doesnt compliment Cavalera's angst however, not that that's a bad thing (think of it as peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, or a banana split) its an interesting mix which makes the album so damn good in the first place, and then you have these chunks of alternative in there, think of 'Soulfly IV' which in itself is a thing of calm beauty, but it all somehow fits.

Riki should also get a quick mention, that's the Soulfly symbol tattooed on his arm, good to see the wee mongrel supporting some good music, even if its to a far greater extent that any one person should.

There isn't anything bad I can say about this album, if your not into Heavy/Death Metal you will otherwise – Be converted due to this band (and seriously listen to the album from start to finish as the band intends and you get a completely different feel for the art) – or hate this band.

P.S im fairly sure Riki got my Mum listning too it, How cool is that?
