A very good friend of mine in Canada sent me For Blood And Empire, its an album Id never even heard of.
That's rather sad, considering Anti Flag is fairly much my favourite band (along-side Propagandhi) But I guess, spending a year with people who are into more multi faceted, rock rather then striped down catchy pop punk will do that.
I'm going to say something that you will not hear often (from me anyways) and that is, that this, the bands newest album, Is better then anything they have produced in the past
A Perfect amount of production has gone into the entire album, which is hard to do believe me, I bitch and moan about over produced 'pop punk' to a degree alot of my friends find annoying (ask Riki about my opinion on the bleeders new album, and then consider the fact that I love the bleeders)
'The Press Corpse' by all means should be a huge hit, its incredibly catchy, but keep's to the bands sound, very much this albums 'Rank-N-File' , 'Hymn for the dead, This Is The End' and 'War Sucks, Lets Party' should also get mentions, This Is The End, is the kind of song that can get mainstream, as it sounds alot like today's pop rock.

I've read that this Album has come under scrutiny because, its sold through Sony, The band has been called hypocritical because it attacks Corporate America, and yet it helps make money for the company's it Attacks so whole heartedly.
Consider this, A band has a chance to break out, they make the most mainstream album in their library, and they continue to sound very much the same, keep their values, attack the same people, the fact that its published through Sony BMG, only means a wider part of the community will be hearing it, which means the message is hitting a larger populace.
I don't think that's hypocritical, I think it what you call smart.
Its a page right out of Rage Against the Machines books, for a band with such similar views.
Nah Nah.. they are sellouts.. sell outs sell outs.. XD
put it on your HDD when you come down wedensday
