Buy a new B.M.X! Famous punk line muttered by a group who named themselves off Doc Martins Slogan, This post is a double whammy, mainly because of a shiny new toy, and partially because of the music its making me want to listen too.

Benny has 'given' me this awesome little beast to ride around on, she needs a clean up due to lack of use in the past, but once its all together, you can count on me playing around with it.

Gotta buy a helmet for 2 reasons, tickets suck, and Benny made it a rule, a friend of his wiped out and 'was never the same' that's fair enough by me.

Anywho! having a shiny new BMX makes me think of a few albums, one of them is Maniacal Laughter, by the Bouncing Souls, which is full of great party / post punk tracks (its fits because of 'The BMX' song)
And the other is a kiwi band by the name of Sommerset, with a song called 'Say what you want'.
The video-clip had the band riding BMX's down a street, being joined by several kiwi celebrity's also on BMX's / Various bikes.

Sommerset supposedly broke up, however 3 of the members recently spoke out on a NZ Music forum saying only one member had left, and they're trying to find a full time replacement, using a guitarist from Kitsch at the moment part time.

Both bands have a stripped down punk feel to them, Sommerset probably being the more 'produced' of the two, I hear they both have awesome Live shows, Bouncing Souls appear on several of Epitath Records 'Punk-O-Rama' compilations, which should be enough reason for you to check them out, while I'm telling you that Sommerset are one of the better bands to come out of New Zealand in recent years.
