After walking around in Levins poorly lit streets trying to find Mike Dee, something strong to drink and some movies to watch we got to talking about online software, operating systems and blogging (exciting drunken geek talk) a few idea's were rekindled, the main one being a joint blog, between mike, myself and a mate rob janes, we had planned to do so when Rob and I first moved away from Levin in 2004, but since I was lacking in internet in early 2005, and rob is still lacking an internet conneciton to this day we have never got around to it.
Instead I had a whole host of crappy blogs, mainly to keep my deviantart journals smaller and more to the point at hand (art) with a link to an offsite journal my friends could read, and to keep my mates in Levin / Auckland and my family up to date. I ran from xanga, myspace, geocities onto msnspaces, possibly because it was easier, less hassle to just update everything through my I.M at the time.
I somehow fell upon wordpress, which I must say is by far the best blog programe ive used, and It dosent look like i turning back anytime soon
The talk then turned to Myspace, which is now one of the main forces on the intergeek, its undeniable that myspace is a popular blogger / internet community… however we were both in agreement that it dosent make up for the piss poor layout/design of the site, stupid emo kids who use it, and the bulk of filler / shite bands drawn to it with the dream of making it big. Further more mike sent me this link, which made a very interesitng read.
Heres a plan guys, go to some bars, play some gigs, build up a real following, look at 'Connan and the mockasins'.
After that ICQ was brought up,this convo didnt last for too long, Mike asked why MSN took over as the main IM (he was a big ICQ user) Ill admit I only ever really had 5 or 6 friends on my ICQ list, and only ever used it for about 2 months before switching to a then very small and clean msn messenger, the only reason I could really come up with (for MSN beating ICQ off) was the popularity of Hotmail at the time, and the simplicity of MSN messenger (at the time, we are talking v1.5, v2 beta) I always copnsiderd ICQ to be a terrible IM in any case, but thats just me.
Back to the blog talk, what ive done is allowed certain wordpress users to update there news on my blog, if they want too, until we decide upon a group blog to update on.

Drunkin geek talk is the best, you did manage to leave out the fact you dropped your box of beers twice on the way there! and then to my amazement after breaking some bottles on your second drop you picked the box back up by the useless cardboard flap! Good times!!
